The Mountain Hutters Return!
6th July 2011
The overnight expedition to the Blüemisalphütte, Swiss mountain hut located at 2840m (9317ft). After a 4hr 30 min climb up they reached the summit, tired but with the satisfaction of reaching the top and getting an ice cream from the café!
After settling in and trading their hiking boots for comfortable croc-like slippers they sat down to a fantastic four course meal - hard to believe they were above the cloudline.
Then, continuing our investitures in unusual places, Stephen was fully invested into the Explorer Unit.
It was an early bed - a very large and very, very warm dormitory, and then an early rise in the morning for breakfast before setting off at 0830 on their descent back to Kandersteg which took 2 hours less than it did to go up!
Congratulations to Caity, Sam, Stephen and Stuart and to Leaders Colin and Kenneth on their achievement.
